Barcelona officially confirmed that Xavi Hernandez will no longer be the manager after this weekend’s La Liga encounter against Sevilla.
The 44-year-old’s exit means that Barça will need a replacement and they have already landed on their next manager in Hansi Flick.
Indeed, the German tactician is understood to have already reached a contract agreement with Barcelona to replace Xavi as their next head coach.
Details of Flick’s contract
Now, SPORT has come forward with a report outlining the details of the contract agreement between Barcelona and Hansi Flick.
The German coach is well aware of the Blaugrana’s financial situation at the moment and as such has agreed to accept a lower salary than what the club were currently paying Xavi.
Xavi and his staff were earning around €18 million per season gross in salary and now Flick’s contract would see that number reduce by 30%.
It would mean that Barça would see a little over €5 million in wages with Flick’s appointment.

Flick also understanding of the transfer situation
Furthermore, the former Bayern Munich coach is aware of Barça’s prospects in the transfer market and will not be demanding this summer.
The 59-year-old has studied the current squad he sees potential in the roster. He is convinced that with a few reinforcements, he can put together a competitive team.
Another important aspect of the current Barça team is the young players. Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, and Alejandro Balde, among others, have become key players during difficult times.
As per the report, Flick has confidence in the youngsters and understands the importance of La Masia at Barça and they will be pivotal for his new project.
For now, the plan is to announce Flick’s appointment as the new manager sometime next week.
