JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli troopers on Monday barred journalists from coming into villages within the West Financial institution on a deliberate tour organized by the administrators of the Oscar-winning film “No Different Land.”
The administrators of the movie, which focuses on Israeli settler assaults on Palestinians within the Israeli-occupied territory, stated they’d invited the journalists on the tour Monday to interview residents about growing settler violence within the space.
In video posted on X by the movie’s co-director, Yuval Abraham, an Israeli soldier tells a gaggle of worldwide journalists there may be “no passage” within the space due to a navy order. Basel Adra, a Palestinian co-director of the movie who lives within the space, stated the navy then blocked the journalists from coming into two Palestinian villages they’d hoped to go to.
Israel’s navy didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
‘They don’t need the world to see what is occurring right here’
“They don’t want journalists to visit the villages to meet the residents,” stated Adra, who had invited the journalists to his dwelling. “It’s clear they don’t want the world to see what is happening here.”
