The 28th-ranked Russian tennis player, Anna Kalinskaya, has ended her run at the WTA 500 grass tournament in Berlin, Germany. She was defeated by German player Ella Seidel (ranked 109th) in the first round of qualifying, with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-7 (6-8).

The match lasted for 2 hours and 18 minutes. During this time, Kalinskaya served seven aces, made three double faults, and converted 7 out of 12 break points. Seidel, on the other hand, recorded 14 aces, nine double faults, and successfully converted 7 out of her 15 break points.

Last year, Anna Kalinskaya reached the final of the tournament in Berlin, where she lost to American player Jessica Pegula.

Ella Seidel will compete for a spot in the main draw of Berlin against the winner of the match between Rebeka Masarova (Switzerland) and Maria Sakkari (Greece).
