Makhachev has decided to move up to the welterweight division to challenge the current champion, **Jack Della Maddalena**.
“To be realistic, based on all my discussions with the UFC and how the situation is unfolding, I don’t think my fight with Makhachev will happen. I would be surprised if I get a call asking me to fight Islam. Even though I would love that, I have no problem with it. Overall, I am ready for any opponent,” Topuria stated as quoted by ESPN MMA.
