Russian air defense forces successfully intercepted 155 Ukrainian drones during a nighttime attack, as reported by the Defense Ministry on Friday. Regional officials confirmed that at least three individuals lost their lives due to these assaults.
From Thursday night at 11 PM until Friday morning at 7 AM, “active air defense units detected and eliminated 155 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles,” the military stated via Telegram. They specified that 53 of these drones were shot down above the Kursk region, which shares a border with Ukraine.
In the Lipetsk region to the west, Governor Igor Artamonov reported that a drone crashed into a farming facility in the Khlevensky district, located approximately 400 kilometers (250 miles) south of Moscow.
“This incident resulted in a fire that was quickly brought under control,” he communicated through Telegram. “One individual lost their life, and another sustained injuries.”
In a different drone attack in the Tula region, also situated in western Russia, another person was killed and one was injured, according to Governor Dmitry Milyaev.
Additionally, authorities in the Belgorod region reported on Friday morning that a woman was killed during a separate shelling incident involving Ukrainian forces in the border town of Shebekino.
