LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — As meals insecurity continues to rise in Southern Nevada—with practically one in six individuals and over one in 5 kids struggling to entry meals—one native partnership is making a measurable influence.
The Meals Rescue Alliance, a collaboration between The Simply One Mission and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, is placing waste to work and turning surplus into assist for tons of of households each week.
What would usually find yourself as leftover meals is now feeding households throughout the valley.
“What this partnership does is rescues food on a large scale, repackages it, and gets it into the hands and the partners who use that food to help sustain families here in Nevada,” Mimi Diebold, Director of Particular Tasks for The Simply One Mission, mentioned.
On Tuesday morning alone, The Simply One Mission and volunteers picked up about 700 kilos of meals from the Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
