LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Clark County Faculty District lecturers who made social media posts concerning the assassination of political influencer Charlie Kirk which have precipitated “substantial disruption” are at the moment not assigned to lecture rooms, Superintendent Jhone Ebert introduced Monday.
Ebert stated she and her staff have spent the final week listening to individuals who have reached out to the district since Kirk’s loss of life, as they’ve obtained 1000’s of emails, social media posts, and direct messages.
“There is common ground in every message I have read. Our community wants our children to feel safe at school, and they want teachers who model values of kindness, understanding, and respect,” Ebert stated within the assertion.
On Friday, all 44,000 CCSD staff have been notified that the district “will not tolerate any speech or conduct regarding political violence that causes a material or substantial disruption” to operations.
In an effort to “protect all staff and students,” CCSD lecturers whose posts concerning the loss of life of Kirk have precipitated “substantial disruption to the District and raised concerns about safety” are at the moment not assigned to lecture rooms, in accordance with Ebert.
