The 2021 US Open champion and world number 14, Russian tennis player **[Daniil Medvedev](https://www.championat.com/tags/24814-daniil-medvedev/)**, shared his thoughts on the performance of French player **Corentin Moutet** in the final of the ATP 250 tournament held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Medvedev defeated Moutet with a score of 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.
“He’s a very challenging player, and he has a unique style of play that… There are probably a few players who would enjoy competing against him, particularly those who are capable of hitting hard slices. I would say that’s the most significant point to emphasize. His slice is quite tricky, and there are certain players who can even use it to speed the ball up. When they do, it becomes tough for him. Personally, I find it a bit more difficult to battle against him, which means I had to engage more in cat-and-mouse tactics. Sometimes rushing to the net, other times holding back; at times, he would throw in a lob, and other times he would hit low shots. My serve was crucial, and I believe I could have performed a bit better on my serves in certain moments. However, I’m pleased that the match turned out to be good, with plenty of excellent moments. In the first and third sets, I executed well at the critical junctures, and I’m really satisfied with that,” stated Medvedev, as reported by Championship correspondent Daniil Salnikov.
