When alternatives come up in life, the bottom line is figuring out the right way to react. That’s precisely what Christian Rasmussen and Ed Carpenter Racing did on Sunday, when mild sprinkles introduced out a yellow flag on lap 209 of the Snap-on Milwaukee Mile 250.
Throughout that warning, the highest three – Alex Palou, Scott McLaughlin and Josef Newgarden, who had pitted about 15 laps earlier – stayed out to guard monitor place. Rasmussen, his teammate Alexander Rossi, and others opted to pit for recent tires.

When the inexperienced flag waved once more on lap 222, Rasmussen charged from seventh, rapidly passing each Arrow McLaren drivers Christian Lundgaard and Pato O’Ward, together with Rossi, to maneuver into fourth.
Switching seamlessly between high and low strains, Rasmussen then overtook Newgarden and McLaughlin earlier than setting his sights on Palou, who held a two-second lead. The 25-year-old stored closing the hole and was quickly on the again of the No. 10 automobile from Chip Ganassi Racing. Going into Flip 3 on lap 235, he swept across the exterior, resisted Palou’s fightback, and pulled clear on his solution to Victory Lane.
