LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Main developments are taking form within the northwest Las Vegas.
Metropolis leaders broke floor Wednesday on a brand new Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Division substation and park that’s geared toward bringing a larger sense of security and neighborhood to the realm.
“This is going to be really great for our community,” mentioned resident Nathan Taylor. “The parks that we have, I think some of them are a little bit too small. I don’t think we can have enough parks, to be honest with you.”
Metropolis and county leaders, police, and neighbors got here collectively to have fun the beginning of development on a $27 million funding in public security and out of doors recreation within the northwest valley.
The brand new developments can be positioned close to the nook of Grand Teton Drive and Hualapai Means, behind the brand new Inexperienced Valley Grocers.
For longtime residents like Nathan Taylor, it’s a challenge years within the making.
“My wife and I have lived out here for 8 years,” mentioned Taylor. “The Skye Canyon and Providence communities have been working together with Councilwoman Nancy Brune since she’s been in office to try to keep an eye on development out here, make sure that we get things out here that the community needs.”
