Kirsty Gallacher, the broadcaster, expressed her shock and fear after an assault in central London.
The former Sky Sports anchor shared her experience with her nearly 400,000 followers on Instagram, revealing that a man clad “entirely in black” and “concealed” had approached her around 7 PM on Tuesday while she was heading to her car after her workday.
“I stepped aside, and then he brushed past me, spun around, and kicked me as if he were kicking a soccer ball,” she recounted in a video shared on Wednesday.
Although she did not disclose the specific location of the incident, the mother of two noted that the Metropolitan Police were currently “addressing the situation.”
The police stated they could not provide comments on incidents without knowing the exact location.
Gallacher reported that when she turned back around, her attacker had already “fled the scene.”
“I can hardly believe what transpired,” she remarked. “I’m still in disbelief, and I have the bruises to illustrate my fear.”
The presenter, who currently hosts a program on Gold Radio, mentioned, “I wasn’t provoking anyone – I was simply minding my own business, walking to my car to reunite with my family.”
She added that the street was well-lit and there were witnesses to the assault, with some “kind girls” coming to her assistance.
“I couldn’t have done more to defend myself, yet still this happened,” Gallacher noted. “I’m extremely thankful to those kind girls.”
