Accused Double Murderer Fails to Appear in Court as Investigation Deepens

A man alleged to have killed two women on different occasions in London did not show up for a scheduled court appearance.

Simon Levy, 40, is facing charges connected to the death of 54-year-old Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, whose body was discovered in south London on March 17. At that time, he was already in custody for the murder of Sheryl Wilkins, 39, whose body was found in Tottenham last August.

Levy was expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to face formal accusations regarding Ms. Valencia-Trujillo’s death; however, he neither attended in person nor participated via video link from prison.

The proceedings continued in his absence, and the case has been forwarded to the Old Bailey for a hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

Colombian national Ms. Valencia-Trujillo was found deceased in a stairwell at the Aylesbury Estate in Walworth.

The cause of her death has yet to be determined, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Levy, residing on Beaufoy Road in Tottenham, was apprehended later in connection with her death and was subsequently released on bail pending further investigations.

The Metropolitan Police charged him with the murder of Ms. Valencia-Trujillo on November 20 as part of a broader inquiry.

He was previously charged with Ms. Wilkins’ murder on September 7.
