The athlete emphasized that this decision was not made lightly and that he will now focus on off-ring projects, including the development of sports infrastructure in his home regions.
“I want to share my plans honestly. Many people have been asking about my future career. At this moment, I’ve chosen to take a conscious pause in my professional journey. Boxing has been and continues to be a significant part of my life. Therefore, making this choice is quite challenging for me. My entire athletic career has been a race for the top: four Russian championships, an Olympic medal in Tokyo, and then turning professional, where I had gone undefeated. My last fight on July 2 marked a turning point for me. That first defeat made me reassess many things. I am grateful for this past year; I thank Allah for the trials and blessings that have helped me grow.
Since I’ve always felt a sense of responsibility both in the ring and towards society, now is the time to focus more actively on the projects I’ve been planning for a long time, such as supporting the development of sports infrastructure in my home regions.
