DETROIT, Michigan — This week, the Trump Administration is predicted to announce a collection of rollbacks that bolster the coal and fossil gas industries, threatening to maintain our coal crops on-line longer and make the environment and local weather dirtier. The administration is predicted to revoke the Environmental Safety Company’s longstanding greenhouse gasoline endangerment discovering below the federal Clear Air Act, and roll again the mercury and air toxics requirements for energy crops and greenhouse gasoline emission requirements for automobiles.
In response, Elayne Coleman, Michigan Chapter Director, launched the next assertion:
“The Trump Administration has already endangered all Michiganders by allowing the ancient Campbell coal plant to continue polluting our air with toxic fumes. Prior to the Trump administration’s fake emergency order, the original shutdown date for Campbell was agreed upon by state regulators, the private utility, and the community. These newest rollbacks add insult to injury by undercutting essential protections for our environment and climate, threatening our nation-leading clean energy laws, and putting the health and safety of all Michigan families at risk.
