The attack struck around 4:23 p.m. on February 12 in the 200 block of North Peoria Street. A 49-year-old man had paused on the sidewalk when two assailants closed in. At least one brandished a handgun and demanded his belongings while striking him repeatedly.
Footage from the scene depicted the victim huddled on the ground, curled defensively as the robbers pressed their assault. The episode unfolded in full view of the snack giant’s headquarters, home to brands like Chips Ahoy! cookies and Philadelphia cream cheese. Suspects Flee in Waiting Vehicle
Investigators described the perpetrators as two Black males dressed distinctly for the cold weather. One wore a gray tracksuit paired with red winter gloves and wielded the firearm. The other sported black jeans featuring ripped knees beneath a black hooded jacket layered over a graphic-designed top.
