West Las Vegas Valley – A confrontation at a local business escalated into a fatal shooting Sunday evening when an employee shot an ex-coworker who had pursued another staff member with a gun.

The incident began around 5:15 p.m. on February 22, 2026, in the 1100 block of South Fort Apache Road, near West Charleston Boulevard and South Rampart Boulevard.[1]

A former employee returned to his previous workplace and confronted a current staffer for reasons police have yet to determine. The exchange quickly intensified as the ex-employee produced a gun and gave chase to the targeted worker.[2]

Witnesses reported the pursuit unfolded in the vicinity of nearby businesses, including a Chevron gas station, Terrible’s convenience store, Roberto’s Taco Shop, and Jiffy Lube. Officers later secured a perimeter around the back parking area of these establishments.

The pursued employee escaped injury, and no bystanders suffered harm during the chaos.

Second Employee Intervenes with Firearm

A third employee, observing the armed pursuit, retrieved a gun from his vehicle and opened fire on the ex-employee.[1]

Police arrived moments later to find the ex-employee in the parking lot, suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene despite efforts to save his life.
