Poland has secured a landmark agreement with the European Union to access €44 billion in strategic defence loans, marking one of the largest financial boosts aimed at enhancing national security within the bloc. The approval is part of the EU’s Support to Assist Frontline Eastern European countries (SAFE) initiative, designed to bolster defence capabilities amid rising geopolitical tensions. This financing is expected to significantly modernize Poland’s military infrastructure, procurement of advanced weaponry, and reinforcement of border security measures.
