Two adolescents have admitted to the brutal torture and killing of two kittens in Ruislip, located in west London.
The authorities launched an investigation after a kitten was discovered hanging from a tree in a field adjacent to Ruislip Golf Club, while the second kitten was on the ground nearby on May 3rd.
The 16-year-old female and 17-year-old male appeared before Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court, where they confessed to causing unnecessary suffering to the protected animals by “mutilating and killing” them.
In addition, both individuals acknowledged a charge of possessing a knife at Ruislip Golf Course.
The court learned that the kittens had ropes tied around them and had been disemboweled.
The accused, who cannot be identified due to legal restrictions, appeared in the courtroom accompanied by security personnel and responded only to confirm their identities.
Witnesses reported seeing the teenage boy carrying an animal carrier, which raised alarms when they later observed him and the 16-year-old girl fleeing the area.
The proceedings detailed that knives, blowtorches, and scissors were also discovered at the scene.
Following the discovery of the kittens, police sought public assistance and released CCTV footage of the suspects along with an image of a black bag believed to have been utilized to transport the animals.
