A missile strike carried out by Russia on Friday resulted in the deaths of five individuals and injured 23 others in the eastern Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, where there has been a surge in deadly assaults from Moscow in recent days, according to regional authorities.
The assault targeted the town of Samar, situated just outside Dnipro, the regional capital, as noted by Serhiy Lysak, the Governor of Dnipropetrovsk.
“Five individuals have lost their lives, and there are 23 injuries,” Lysak remarked in his statement.
Earlier this week, Ukrainian officials reported that Russian missile attacks on both Dnipro and Samar resulted in at least 23 fatalities. Military insiders indicated that prior assaults in the region had aimed at Ukrainian training facilities.
Russian troops are currently attempting to establish a presence in Dnipropetrovsk for the first time since President Vladimir Putin initiated the large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Earlier this week, Moscow announced it had taken control of two villages near the regional border.
In a separate incident, officials in the northeastern Kharkiv region of Ukraine reported one death and three injuries due to Russian attacks, although they did not disclose the specific location of these events.
