Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene after a 911 caller reported the shooting just after 5 p.m. The incident took place in the 2800 block of South Decatur Boulevard, close to West Sahara Avenue and near Pennwood Avenue.[3] Patrol units found the adult male victim with severe injuries and immediately secured the area around a local convenience store at the northwest corner of the intersection.
Crime scene tape cordoned off the site as investigators began processing evidence. Police confirmed the man had been shot in the face, a detail relayed directly from the emergency call. Responders prioritized the victim’s transport while launching a preliminary search for the perpetrator.
Victim Fights for Life at UMC Trauma
Paramedics rushed the wounded man to University Medical Center’s Trauma Center, where medical staff listed his condition as critical.
